[Real date – 12 August 2016]
And so the Premier League season – and therefore my cycling the season challenge – starts tomorrow. Palace are at home against West Bromwich Albion (the team my mother supported as a child) and I’ll be cycling the eight miles each way to Selhurst Park for the first ride of the challenge.
I’ve been – sort of – in training for the last couple of months; testing out both my legs and my navigational abilities (or rather those of my Garmin). I’ve had nice runs to places such as Windsor; Royal Tonbridge Wells; Lewes; Brighton and Marlow; as well as taking part in the Prudential Ride London ride. I completed that 100 mile ride in about five and a half hours – not a time I’ll be able to match fully loaded when travelling across the country, I’m afraid.
So, a reminder, if you’d like to sponsor me, please do so on http://www.justgiving.co.uk/cyclingtheseason or by texting ‘CPFC16 £5’ (or whatever amount) to 70070 to donate to Contact a Family and make a difference today.
